alexander gil

Born in Zurich in 1997, Alexander Gil developed a close relationship with music at an early age under the guidance of renowned guitarist and pedagogue Daniel Erni.

He received flamenco guitar lessons from maestros Claudio Mermoud, Vicente Cortés and Pepe Habichuela, and numerous classical guitar master classes from Leo Brouwer, Rafael Aguirre, Marco Tamayo, Carlo Marchione, David Martínez, Oscar Ghighlia and Eduardo Egüez.

He studied with Anders Miolin at the Zurich University of the Arts, graduating with a Bachelor of Music in 2018 and obtaining a Master of Music Pedagogy in 2020. In 2023 he received his Master's degree in Guitar after studying with Joaquín Clerch at the Robert Schumann Hochschule Düsseldorf.
Alexander Gil won several first prizes at the Swiss Young Musicians Competition and has subsequently been awarded in international competitions. He has worked with artists such as Howard Griffiths, Marc Bouchkov, Stefan Keller, Martin Wettstein, Maximilian Vogler and Jascha von der Goltz.

He has been a semi-finalist in the renowned José Tomás Guitar Competition 2024 and a finalist in the Uppsala Guitar Competition 2024.
